Specialized IT Technician - NRBHSS

The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), established under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (Chapter 15) and the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory north of the 55th parallel.

Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the needs of the population and the realities of the region, and to ensure the efficient organization of resources available to the Nunavik region.

MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE: ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIRECTORATE – SERVICE #10002 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY 

DESCRIPTION 

Under the authority of the Information Technology Services Coordinator, the successful candidate will oversee the follow-up of various telehealth projects and files for the Nunavik region. 

The incumbent will work closely with the region’s two health institutions and with other healthcare professionals involved in these projects. 

The incumbent will participate in various technology committees and act as a liaison with both health centres. 

In the event of a technological issue, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring the situation through to its resolution. 

The incumbent will conduct the analyses required to meet the evolving needs of telehealth infrastructures and related projects. 

They will define, configure, and document the implementation of software and equipment under their responsibility and ensure compliance with industry best practices. 

In some projects, the incumbent will lead activities, while in others they will collaborate with various stakeholders. 

Teamwork is highly valued, and the incumbent will therefore provide support and follow-up during colleagues' absences as needed. 

REQUIREMENTS 

• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement, a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered;  

• Must hold a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Computer Science Technology from a school recognized by 

the appropriate ministry, or a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) combined with a relevant undergraduate certificate, or a relevant Attestation of College Studies (AEC) of 800 hours or more. 

A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience is required;  

• Experience with backup and recovery technologies, server administration, infrastructure monitoring, and troubleshooting. 

DESIRED PROFILE 

• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and collaboration tools (Teams, Planner, SharePoint);  

• Commitment to implementing solutions that comply with security principles;  

• Knowledge of networking technologies, TCP/IP, Active Directory, routers, Windows Server 2019, and Microsoft 365;  

• Proficiency with virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V);  

• Configuration and security management of network switches;  

• Familiarity with the 802.1X protocol;  

• Demonstrates autonomy, initiative, and strong teamwork skills;  

• Available to work evenings and weekends, according to a schedule to be determined;  

• Proficiency in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages used in the region: Inuktitut, English, or French. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

• Home Base: Remote work assignment. Please note that travel to Nunavik may be required depending on service activities;  

• Interviews may take place during the week of October 5 or October 12, 2026. 

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement will have priority. 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

• Full-time temporary assignment, 35 hours per week, for a period of one (1) year, with the possibility of extension;  

• Day shift;  

• Salary according to MSSS conditions and the candidate’s qualifications ($28.40/hour to $40.88/hour).

For those hired more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq, low-cost housing is provided, along with reimbursement of moving and storage expenses.
