Job Description
*** LOCAL HIRING ***
This position is reserved for Inuit/JBNQA beneficiary who resides in the community.
Translation in Inuktitut will be available shortly
Specific functions
• Provides support, supervision, discipline, accompaniment, and animation for the users entrusted to their care.
• They welcome users from all intervention services and intervene in times of crisis, disorganization, or when
special assistance is needed. In terms of support for caregivers, they can be present in various departments
when the situation requires it.
• They respond to certain user needs in line with the rehabilitation objectives pursued.
• They can provide users with basic care, including hygiene and nutrition.
• They intervene physically when the situation requires it and search users or physical premises when requested.
• They observe the user's behavior and report their observations in reports that are relevant to the user's continued treatment.
• They carry out security rounds of the facility.
Specific Requirements
• High School Diploma;
• Bilingual English / French spoken and written, knowledge of Inuktitut would be an asset
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Capacity to adapt to a clientele from a different cultural background
• Be sensitive, understanding and emotionally mature and display a positive attitude
• Capacity to intervene physically when the situation requires
• Must have good interpersonal skills
• Available to work day, evening and week-end shifts
• Be available to work on day, evening, night and weekend shifts;
• History working with youth is an asset
• Willing to participate in any training provided by the employer or educational institution and deemed necessary for a more effective performance of their duties or tasks
• Share knowledge and skills, work in collaboration with social interveners
• Must have a valid driver’s license
