POSITION
Job Title: Tanning Agent
Reports to: The Nunavik Furs Manager in the Economic Development Department
Location: Kuujjuaq
Status of Employment: Seasonal, Full-Time

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary: Between $27.00 and $33.00 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Tanning furs, hides and pelts by processing animal hides, by:
▪ Skinning animals;
▪ Fleshing pelts;
▪ Tanning furs;
▪ Repairing the furs with holes (by sewing, stitching, etc.);
▪ Help keeping an inventory and keeping track of customers’ furs;
▪ Be available to travel for training, as requested;
▪ Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
▪ High School diploma or equivalent work experience;
▪ Effective communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages: Inuktitut, English and/or French;
▪ Knowledge of sewing, hunting and trapping, is an asset;
▪ Inuit culture and traditional knowledge and northern environment, is an asset;
▪ Ability to collaborate and take initiative;
▪ Reliable and punctual;
▪ Strong organizational and time management skills;
▪ Self-motivated and able to work in unique environment;
▪ Ability to work independently, also a great team player;
▪ Security clearance is required.
