POSITION: TEACHER – GENERAL EDUCATION

DEPARTMENT: ADULT EDUCATION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING

SALARY: FROM $54,119 TO $105,432 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

DURATION: AUGUST TO DECEMBER 2026 (WITH A POSSIBILITY OF RENEWAL)

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

The following positions are currently available:

Language of Instruction        -       English and French

Subject      -      General Education 

Location     -     Kangiqsujuaq

QUALIFICATIONS:

Teacher’s Certificate / B. Education, preferably with a major in one of the following subjects: remedial education, andragogy, English – second language or English – mother tongue.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in adult education.

• Experience in literacy teaching.

• Experience in multi-level classes.

• Experience in teaching the following subjects: English, mathematics, technology, sciences, personal, social and professional development.

• Experience in teaching English as a second language would be an asset

ASSETS:

• Knowledge and teaching of the MEES programs.

• Experience in teaching English and French as a second language.

• Knowledge of the Moodle platform.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

Salary & benefits as per the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board: from $54,119 to $105,432 annually depending on experience and qualifications. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
