Title: Trainer / facilitator for culinary workshops in Nunavik 

The Kitchen Brigades is a culinary education program offered in over 350 high schools across Canada. For a 

second summer, La Tablée des Chefs is pleased to collaborate with ESUMA to offer culinary workshops in a 

Nunavik community. This year, the workshops will take place in the community of Inukjuak from June 28th to 

July 11th 2026! We are looking for a passionate and committed chef instructor to lead workshops tailored to 

the realities of Nunavik. An understanding of the culinary culture of the Inuit is essential to ensure a 

collaborative, and enriching approach. You will be responsible for teaching participants the basics of culinary 

techniques and healthy eating, using the provided educational materials. 

Desired profile: 

● Be passionate about food and cooking. 

● Be skilled in group animation and teaching. 

● Be comfortable with adolescents (10-17 years old). 

● Be autonomous, organized, and responsible. 

● A strong understanding of traditional food practices, preparation techniques, and ingredients typical of 

Inuit is a significant asset. 

● A diploma in professional cooking (DEP), nutrition training, or equivalent is an asset. 

● Experience in facilitation or education is an asset. 

Tasks: 

● Lead the culinary workshops. 

● Adapt the program content to the realities of the region. 

● Teach participants basic cooking techniques, support them in preparing recipes. 

● Prepare ahead for each workshop in advance by reviewing the provided content. 

● In collaboration with the coordinator, purchase the necessary ingredients for the workshop recipes. 

Important to know: 

● Working hours: 35-40 hours per week for 4 weeks. Be available from June 28th to July 11th 2026. 

● Compensation: To be determined based on experience and qualifications. 

● Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered, and a per diem will be added to the 

compensation to cover additional expenses related to the mission. 

● A criminal background check will be required due to the nature of the position, which involves regular 

contact with minors.
