POSITION
Job Title : Training and Development Officer
Reports to: The Human Resource Manager in the Treasurer Department.
Location: Kuujjuaq
Status of Employment: Permanent, Full-time

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary: Between $60,000 and $75,000 annually
Benefits: All marginal benefits available to Makivvik employees annually as outlined in the Makivvik Human Resources Policy Manual such as:
RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Implement external and internal training plans for employees;
▪ Maintain Employee Training Records;
Simplified Pension Plan Group Insurance
Vacation: starting at 20 days Gas allowance: To a maximum of $3,500
Sick days: 15 days Travel Benefit: To a maximum o$25,000
Isolation premium: To a maximum of $20,800
Housing allowance: To a maximum of $12,000
Cargo allowance: To a maximum of $6,500
▪ Implement and oversee orientation program for new hires to the organization;
▪ Assist in creation of developmental plans for employees;
▪ Oversee internships/summer students program implementation;
▪ Working on training files in collaboration with other organizations;
▪ Ensure funding applications are completed and funding agreement requirements are met;
▪ Make recommendations on training needs;
▪ Ensure compliance with training requirements of provincial, federal, and regional bodies;
▪ Create annual corporate training calendar based on company needs and interests;
▪ Have an understanding of e-learning techniques, including limitations, and where relevant, being involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages;
▪ Create and maintain a training resource database;
▪ Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and presenting this research;
▪ Participate in recruitment activities such as career fairs, information sessions, and other HR related activities;
▪ Be available to travel, as requested;
▪ Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
▪ High School diploma;
▪ Two (2) years of related experience in training and professional development or equivalent;
▪ Experience in education, human resources or project management, is an asset;
▪ Good communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages: Inuktitut, English and/or French;
▪ Great computer skills : Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);
▪ Ability to work independently and a good team player;
▪ Demonstrate experience in multitasking, being organized and punctual;
▪ Energetic, determined, and creative;
▪ Solution focused;
▪ Able to work under pressure;
▪ Comfortable writing reports and presentations;
▪ Excellent communication skills.
