POSITION: Translation Department Coordinator

LOCATION: Remote (Work from Anywhere)

all Inuit regions of Canada.

clients and our team of translators and interpreters. For our clients, we guarantee a dedicated 

point of contact for every project, providing continuity and personalized service. Likewise, for our 

language professionals, we directly source and assign projects, offering a singular contact point 

for all their assignments. This approach not only streamlines communication but also enhances 

overall project consistency and satisfaction.

We are seeking a highly organized and dependable Translation Department Coordinator to 

support our Translation Department Manager. This role plays a key part in maintaining workflow 

continuity, ensuring tasks are tracked to completion, and keeping the department running 

efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Project & Workflow Support

- Assist the Translation Department Manager with assigning work to translators 

and reviewers

- Track project deadlines, deliverables, and follow-ups to ensure all tasks are 

properly monitored and completed

- Maintain clear visibility on project status, priorities, and next steps

- Proactively identify missing information, delays, or risks to timelines

Administrative & Financial Support

- Enter invoices, bills, and basic financial data into QuickBooks

- Maintain accurate and well-organized digital records (projects, contractors, 

payments, communications)

Contractor Coordination

- Communicate with employee & freelance translators and reviewers regarding 

assignments, availability, and follow-ups

- Track contractor documentation, rates, and availability

- Ensure timely, professional, and consistent communication

General Organization & Support

- Help keep the department manager organized, informed, and focused on 

priorities

- Manage emails, task lists, and internal coordination as needed

- Assist with documenting processes and improving systems over time

Translation / Transcription

- Translation / Transcription projects (ENG – IN / IN – ENG) is an asset

Required Skills:

- Strong    organizational and    time-management    skills Strong listening and 

communication skills.

- Professional demeanor and unwavering work ethic.

- Punctuality.

- Ability    to    work    independently    in    a    remote    environment

- Clear    and    professional    written    communication    skills

- Demonstrate ability to handle and safeguard confidential information.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and 

PowerPoint).

- Proficiency in Inuktitut and English; French proficiency is advantageous.

Important: This role is detail-heavy. Candidates who enjoy systems, checklists, 

follow-ups, and keeping operations organized will thrive in this position.

Employment Type: Apatakaa recognizes the significance of family and adaptability in 

today's evolving work landscape. As such, this position is available for remote work.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 per year

Benefits: Travel Benefits (Anywhere in World) $10,000/year

Housing Benefits $10,200/year

RRSP contributions (After 6 months) 6% of Base Salary

Paid Vacation (4 Weeks) + Christmas Holidays (2 Weeks)

Sick Days (2 Weeks)
