The work location is in Nunavik and the normal work schedule is on a rotation of 6 weeks: 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks for rest.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

Reporting to the Supervisor, the main responsibilities of the Underground Services Miner will be: 

  • He performs his tasks according to the safety standards in effect (road safety and health and safety). 
  • He inspects his equipment before and after his shift. 
  • Responsible for the descent of the underground material and the maintenance of the refuge chambers. 
  • If necessary, he will perform any other tasks requested by his supervisor. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  •  Must be able to operate at least 2 of the following equipment: Boom truck, Scissor Lift, Lube Truck, Toyota Jeep. 
  • Must have a minimum of two years of underground work experience. 
  • Possess a high school diploma (DES). 
  • Possess FMTM mining modules 1 to 5 and 7. 
  • Possess a class 1 driver's license. 
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of underground mining experience. 
  • Possess an explosives permit is mandatory. 
  • Have successfully completed a heavy equipment course or have experience deemed equivalent. 
  • Good knowledge of preventive mechanics is an asset.  
  • Due to frequent interactions with French-speaking team members, bilingualism (French/English) is an asset to facilitate and improve internal communications.
