WATER TREATMENT COORDINATOR

PERMANENT POSITION POSITION TO FILL 1 Code CO25-20

The work location is at Nunavik and the normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks for rest.

FUTURE CHALLENGES

The Water Treatment Coordinator performs the following duties in accordance with applicable safety standards:

▪ Coordinate, plan and control the operation and improvement activities of the drinking water production, wastewater  treatment as well as surface mining water treatment facilities;

▪ Work in close collaboration with the maintenance departments and participate in the reliability of the facilities;

▪ Ensure the writing of follow-up, scientific and technical reports;

▪ Participate actively in the implementation of new water treatment plants;

▪ Leads optimization projects for water treatment plants, whether in terms of production, health and safety, automation or computerization of processes;

▪ Ensure the application of the regulations in force in his sector;

▪ Supervise the personnel of his sector;

▪ Plan the sampling and analysis of water in his sector;

▪ Promote and comply with company health and safety requirements;

▪ Performs any other related duties as required by his supervisor.

PROFILE REQUIRED

▪ Education and relevant experience:

o Have a college diploma (DEC) in water treatment and have more than 5 years of experience in the field of water 

treatment or mining water treatment;

OR

o Have a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (environmental or water specialty is an asset) and have more 

than 2 years’ experience in the water treatment sector.

▪ Knowledge of physical-chemical processes of decanter/integrated sludge tanker/sludge recirculation.

▪ Knowledge of drinking water and wastewater regulations;

▪ Excellent knowledge of the Office Suite;

▪ Possess a valid class 5 driver's license.

NICE TO HAVE 

▪ Bilingualism (French and functional English);

▪ Holder of certificates of qualification in wastewater treatment and/or drinking water.
